It is with a heavy heart that we, the board of The Oasis, have made the difficult choice to close our doors at the end of April.

What started in 2003 as lofty concept, led to 5 years of fundraising, renovation of a building, and grand opening our of teen center In April of 2008.From that point on, we’ve had the pleasure of being able to independently fund our mission with a fashion show, a country/western dance, concerts, golf outings, motorcycle runs, car shows, rib-fests, murder mystery, zombie 5k’s, and countless other events.

This allowed us to be able to provide our facility & service without a cost to our young guests or the Grayslake tax payer.

The spirit of the Oasis will remain strong in our town. The Grayslake Public Library has developed a great teen center, and we look forward to seeing that flourish.

Some of our popular events such as the Car Show, Golf Outing & Visit with Santa will still continue, just independently of The Oasis.

We want to thank all of our wonderful community partners who have helped us along our journey. The Village of Grayslake, Exchange Club of Grayslake, The Grayslake Rotary Club, Grayslake Lions Club, CLC, d127, d46, GLFD, & GLPD.

The countless volunteers, sponsors, donors, and business owners who helped us keep our doors open for over a decade. It was a labor of love, and wouldn’t have been possible without the hours of sweat equity invested by members of our community. There are truly too many to list here, and that’s a testament to the support we’ve felt since our inception.

To all of the young musicians who shared their music on our stage, we thank you. To all of the students who hung out after school, played games, and did homework, thank you.

Our mission was to provide a safe & sound space for our areas youth, and your presence let us know that it was valued.
It’s been a great honor to serve Grayslake.

We never wanted to film any children who were just hanging out & enjoying The Oasis, which is why there is no footage of our daily guests.
